FarmDroid FD20 is a solar-powered field robot that seeds and weeds. By using high-precision RTK GPS, the FarmDroid FD20 marks the position of each plant at seeding and subsequently performs both inter-row weeding between rows and intra-row weeding between plants.

High precision seeding
Our unique +Seed system ensures precise seed placement in the field. A 3D-printed seed disc accurately meters the specified number of seeds and the robot places them in the soil with 8mm precision. The seed unit also detects potential issues, such as an empty container or dirt in the system, and automatically notifies the farmer, ensuring a smooth and reliable seeding process.
Inter and intrarow weeding
Our +Weed system mechanically removes weeds in between rows and plants. As FarmDroid does not rely on camera systems and works with GPS coordinates, it can start weeding even before the plants germinate!
Targeted micro-spraying
Our robot equipped with +Spray system micro-sprays plant protection substances where needed. This targeted approach reduces the use of chemicals by up to 94%, benefiting the environment and reducing operational costs at the same time. Depending on specific farm’s needs, our farm robot can be configured for spot or band spraying.
Co2 neutral operation
With four solar panels, FarmDroid FD20 efficiently converts sunlight into power for its two batteries, providing a maximum output of 1.6 kWh. Depending on weather conditions and operational demands, this energy storage enables 18–24 hours of continuous field work, covering up to 5 hectares daily. Traveling at a steady pace of 950 metres per hour and with the capability to operate for up to 24 hours daily, the FD20 covers up to 6.5 hectares in a day.
Compatible with 50+ crop types
Although FarmDroid’s journey began with a primary focus on sugar beets, today, our farm robot confidently ensures precision in seeding and weeding of more than 50 crops including spinach, chicory, onion, cabbage, and more.
Scaleable with more robots
